Lake Eyre Scenic Tour
Day 1 - Moree to William Creek
Our adventure begins with a departure from Moree at approximately 8:00 am. We head west, making our first stop at Tibooburra*, where you’ll have time to stretch your legs, enjoy a light refreshment, and take in the unique outback surroundings.
Back in the air, we continue across some of Australia’s most spectacular landscapes, flying over the stunning Lake Frome and the rugged Flinders and Gammon Ranges. We then land at Leigh Creek to refuel while enjoying a relaxed picnic lunch.
After lunch, we fly north to Marree, where you’ll experience an aerial view of the famous Marree Man before following the southern shoreline of Lake Eyre South on our way to William Creek.
Arriving in William Creek during the mid-afternoon, you’ll have the remainder of the day to relax and explore at your own pace. Spend the evening soaking up the atmosphere of the iconic William Creek Hotel, where you’ll enjoy your overnight stay.
*Tibooburra stop may be substituted with an alternative location due to operational requirements.
Day 2 - William Creek to Birdsville
Start the morning at a relaxed pace with breakfast at the iconic William Creek Hotel before departing mid-morning for another unforgettable day of outback flying.
Our flight takes us towards the south-western shoreline of Lake Eyre, including Halligan Bay, before venturing out over the vast salt lake itself. We’ll fly across Dalhunty Island, home to large flocks of pelicans when conditions are right, and continue over Hunt Peninsula. From there, we follow the Goyder Channel, the natural waterway linking Lake Eyre North and Lake Eyre South.
Continuing along the eastern shoreline, you’ll enjoy spectacular aerial views of the lake’s inlets before tracing the winding Warburton River north to the legendary outback town of Birdsville.
Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at either the famous Birdsville Hotel or the local bakery before spending the afternoon exploring the town at your own pace.
At 4:00 pm, you’ll join the unforgettable Big Red Sunset Tour, travelling to the iconic red sand dune to experience one of Australia’s most spectacular outback sunsets.
After returning to Birdsville, enjoy dinner at the Birdsville Hotel before settling in for your overnight stay.
Day 3 - Birdsville to Moree
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we depart Birdsville at approximately 8:30 am for the journey home.
Our first stop is the historic outback town of Cunnamulla, where you’ll have time to enjoy a light refreshment, stretch your legs, and explore this charming Queensland town.
After our stop, we board the aircraft once more and continue our scenic flight back to Moree, arriving in the early afternoon with lasting memories of an unforgettable three-day outback adventure across some of Australia’s most spectacular landscapes.
